Wind Slit Cutters

The SignTextile Wind Slit Cutter is a practical tool for creating clean wind vents in vinyl banners and other compatible sign materials. It allows you to cut half-circle or full-circle openings ranging from just under 3" up to 12" in diameter, helping reduce wind pressure on large outdoor banner installations.

The cutter features an adjustable radius guide located on the underside of the tool, allowing you to select the desired vent size before cutting. The blade depth can also be adjusted using the blade handle for controlled cutting.

How to Use

1. Adjust the radius by loosening the base of the center knob and using the measurement guide on the underside of the tool.

2. Set the blade depth by turning the blade adjustment and extending the cutting tip as needed.

3. Place the banner face down on a flat cutting surface that can safely withstand blade contact.

4. Position your first vent approximately 6" to 8" from the banner edge.

5. Hold the center knob firmly in place.

6. Rotate the cutting arm in a smooth clockwise arc to create the wind slit.

7. Repeat as needed while maintaining consistent spacing across the banner.

Positioning the banner face down helps reduce the chance of visible marks on the printed side. When cutting half-moon vents, orienting the tool properly allows the slit to remain naturally closed when wind is not passing through it.
